Privacy Policy — Guardian Cleaner

Effective date: 23 July 2026 · Last updated: 23 July 2026

In short: Guardian Cleaner is a local-first app. Your files, photos, contacts, calendar, installed-app list, location and saved passwords are analyzed on your device and are never uploaded to us or anyone else. The only data that leaves your device is (1) an advertising identifier used by Google AdMob to show ads, and (2) a short, non-identifying fragment of a password hash if you choose to use the breach checker. We do not have user accounts and we do not sell your data.

1. Who we are

This app ("Guardian Cleaner", package com.guardian.cleaner) is provided by Mahtab Anwar ("we", "us"). For any privacy question, contact us at anwaraftab121@gmail.com.

2. Data processed only on your device (not collected by us)

The features below read data solely to work on your device. This data is never transmitted off your device, never sent to our servers (we operate none for this purpose), and is not shared with third parties:

3. Data that leaves your device

3.1 Advertising (Google AdMob)

We show ads using Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use your device's Advertising ID and related identifiers to serve and measure ads. This is handled by Google, not by us. You can reset or limit your Advertising ID in your device settings. See Google's policies: Google Ads and Google Privacy Policy.

3.2 Password breach check (optional)

If you use the Password Breach Check, the app computes a SHA-1 hash of the password you enter and sends only the first 5 characters of that hash over HTTPS to the "Have I Been Pwned" Pwned Passwords service (k-anonymity model). Your password and its full hash never leave your device, and the 5-character fragment cannot identify you or reveal your password. See the Have I Been Pwned privacy policy.

3.3 Threat/URL lists (optional)

Safe Browsing and phishing features may download a public list of known-malicious URLs to your device. This is a one-way download; no personal data or browsing history is sent.

Other than the above, the app makes no network calls that transmit your personal data.

5. Third-party services

6. Data security

Sensitive local data (vault files, saved passwords, secure notes, 2FA secrets) is encrypted using AES-256-GCM with keys held in the hardware-backed Android Keystore. Network requests (ads, breach check, threat lists) use HTTPS. The App Lock (PIN) stores only a salted hash of your PIN, never the PIN itself.

7. Data retention and deletion

Because your data stays on your device, you remain in control of it. You can delete items within the app (e.g., vault entries, saved passwords, intruder photos), clear app data in your device settings, or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data. To reset the advertising identifier, use your device's Ads settings.

8. Children's privacy

Guardian Cleaner is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. It is not designed for or targeted at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region), and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, within the app or store listing.
